BROOKE DALTON

My paintings of interiors, still life and gardenscapes are an attempt to document the creativity of the design world and allow me to fulfill my own design frustrations through the medium of painting.  

Spurred by a floral arrangement, an object, a view or a general feeling, I will construct a room setting or still life with collections of objects, furniture, vases, foliage and books, both personal, borrowed and media inspired.  Strokes of confident colour are used quickly to evoke a feeling a life within.

As a country resident, a distance from stimulating city life, my paintings look to transport viewers to another world full of colour and texture and uplifting vistas and show another side of country living.
