BROOKE TORLEY

Just a few of the things that bring me joy are music, good poetry, my people, birdsong, and like most artists, I am obsessed with colour. 

Over the last few years of my career I have used watercolour as my primary medium, with a focus on portraiture. As I have begun to appreciate and paint more landscapes I have enjoyed using oil on canvas to express more movement and vibrancy. Moving from the Central Coast to Tamworth has been a significant part of this transition since I have been surrounded by the mountains and the river.

Amidst all the pain and unknowns in life, there is always beauty, waiting patiently for me to notice it. On the worst day the birds still sing, the flowers still bloom, people still smile.
