ISABELLE DEVOS

I am predominantly a landscape painter, exploring a dynamic and ephemeral subject in places I know and love, particularly the play of light and shadow. When painting interiors and still life work the nature of light has a big impact. In this work I was drawn to the early morning light coming in to the kitchen, just before the activity of a family begins. Past memories can shape the present moment and I explore this tension within this work.
