ANNE SCANLON
"I'm a Brisbane artist drawn to the natural environment, and the constant flux within the natural world. Working in a variety of mediums, I aim to create pieces that both connect and last. A life long gardener, I am intrigued by the detail in nature so easy to overlook, and love to capture those fleeting moments in both feel and form. I find that when I paint a piece, it becomes a meditation, a study in looking closely at what is often hidden, and sharing the joy of it with others.
I have always painted since being introduced to painting by my grandfather at age 4. As life took over in the usual way, my painting had been relegated to the odd one here and there until life changing events have pushed me back to painting seriously. I paint because I am overwhelmed by a desire to share that intangieble feeling of something I see or experience, in a tangible way."
