EMILY HANDLIN ‘RIFFS’

Emily Handlin (b.1987) is a Sydney-based multimedia artist whose work delves into the themes, colours, and textures of the ‘Wild West’. Her art explores its aesthetic, stories, symbolism and culture.

Opening Event Saturday 18 January 2025 @3pm RSVP HERE

This collection, ‘Riffs’, draws from country music, with each painting inspired by lyrics from iconic Aussie and international performers at Tamworth Country Music Festival 2025. Working on raw (unprimed) linen, the dry, textured surface reflects the gritty, sun-baked landscapes in the songs.

Just as a great riff can transport you, these paintings aim to invite viewers to experience the lyrics and the dusty and dry landscapes in which they’re set.
